Short term insurance – Personal:
Motor Vehicle Insurance:
Cover for any car, light delivery vehicle, trailer, caravan or motor cycle.
There are three types of car insurances: Comprehensive, 3rd Party Fire & Theft, 3rd Party Only.
- Comprehensive Motor Vehicle Insurance: Is an all-inclusive, all-risk type insurance that will cover your vehicle should it be stolen or damaged as well as damages caused to a third party.
- 3rd Party Fire & Theft: Will protect your vehicle against theft, fire-related damages, and damages you have caused to another person’s vehicle, not damage to your vehicle.
- 3rd Party Only: Will protect your financial well-being, as it will cover expenses, costs, damages you have caused to another person's vehicle or property during an accident.
Note: Vehicle hire, credit short fall, tyre and rim cover, scratch and dent cover can be added at an additional premium
Houseowners/Building Insurance:
Covers loss or damage to the structure of your house and outbuildings as a result of:
- Fire, lightning, explosion, and/or earthquake.
- Malicious or intentional damage and/ or damage from break-in or theft.
- Burst water pipes.
- Storms and floods.
- Animals, vehicles and falling trees (but not while they are being felled).
- Subsidence (sinking) of land and landslips.
Your garage, swimming pool, walls and gates are also covered under this section.
Household contents:
Covers up to the limit stated on your schedule for the following:
- Fire, lightning, explosion, and/or earthquake.
- Malicious or intentional damage and/ or damage from break-in or theft.
- Locks and keys damaged during the break in.
- Burst water pipes.
- Storms and floods.
- Damage by animals, vehicles and falling trees (but not while they are being felled).
- Subsidence (sinking) of land and landslips.
- Food that spoils in your fridge during a power outage.
- Stolen items from the washing line, garden furniture, guest’s belongings and money stolen from your home (provided there is evidence of a break-in).
- Medical expenses for an injury caused by your pet or a defect in your building.
- How to determine what to insure under contents “Everything under your roof”. An easy way to determine this is to imagine taking the roof off your home and turning it upside down, everything that falls out of your home constitutes your home contents or complete our detailed inventory form.
Note: All items should be insured for replacement value.
All-Risk:
Here we insure any valuable items you take off your property - such as camera’s, cell phones, iPad’s, Laptops, Jewellery etc.
Note: These items are no longer under roof, therefore special insurance is required.
Personal Liability:
Covers you for claims where you are deemed to be liable for accidental death, bodily injury, or illness. Accidental damage or physical loss to tangible property of a third party, wherever in the world you may be.
Other benefits are Legal liability for wrongful arrest, hole-in-one/full house, domestic employees, tenants and/or security companies.
Watercraft (Boats & Jet Ski’s):
Provides comprehensive cover for your craft when in the waters of, or when transported through, South Africa, Botswana, Swaziland, Lesotho, Malawi, Mozambique and Namibia for social, domestic or pleasure purposes, and for the purpose for which they were designed.
Note: the boat trailer must be separately insured under the “vehicle” section.
